The problem isn't always the file format
Businesses often receive several exports with different columns and want one answer: which customers are missing, which SKUs changed, which invoices do not match, or what did the totals conceal? A plain CSV-to-XLSX conversion does not answer those questions.
Choose the finished result, not the software
- Structured conversion: reshape selected columns from CSV or spreadsheet exports into the agreed output format, while keeping the original files intact.
- Field extraction: pull the specific identifiers, dates, values and categories needed for the question rather than copying everything indiscriminately.
- Multi-file reconciliation: match records using declared keys; mark missing or ambiguous relationships instead of silently guessing.
- Targeted reporting: produce a summary, a record-by-record difference table, or a filtered exception list with pointers back to the source.
Illustrative three-file request
An office has a customer export, an invoice export and a supplier price list. They want one spreadsheet showing invoice number, customer ID, billed amount and supplier price discrepancy—plus a one-page summary of unmatched IDs. The output is a joined table with exception flags, not three converted copies.
| Invoice | Customer ID | Amount | Exception |
|---|---|---|---|
| INV-1001 | C-011 | $120.00 | none in synthetic sample |
| INV-1002 | C-999 | $80.00 | customer ID unmatched |
How the opposing verification works
We compare source and output row counts, preserve stable identifiers, disclose removed/added columns, count unmatched and duplicate keys, and identify source records that were excluded from the report. Two totals matching is not sufficient verification of individual record relationships.
Scope before price
CSV and Excel structured-data work is the initial scope. Data extracted from machine-readable PDFs may be quoted separately after checking the source; scanned images, handwriting and OCR accuracy require additional review. We do not advertise untested conversions as instant or lossless.
Start by describing the number of files, their formats, which fields you want, and the final questions the report should answer. Prepare a scope request without uploading customer-confidential files.
